The property is proudly owned through the Downtown Dawson Limited Partnership, which is owned equally by the Tr’ochëk Limited Partnership, wholly owned by the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Trust, and Northern Vision Development LP. As such it is approximately 75% beneficially owned by Yukon First Nations, and is over 65% owned by Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Trust, NVDs leading investor, who’s traditional territory includes Dawson City.

“We’re really excited about re-entering a partnership with Coast Hotels” says Rich Thompson, CEO of NVD. “The Coast High Country Inn, which was wholly owned by NVD, successfully carried the Coast brand from 2013 until it was sold for an alternate use last year. We’ve always enjoyed a strong relationship with Coast Hotels and look forward to adding our Dawson City asset to the Coast Hotels family.”

The Coast brand is expected to assist the Hotel with the maintenance of high standards of guest care, while also providing access to its global reach as part of the Coast Hotel family. In turn Coast is excited to add the home of the world famous “Sour Toe Cocktail” to its strong hotel offering in North America. The Downtown, a Coast Hotel is open year-round and enjoys a central location in Dawson City, combining modern comfortable rooms with Klondike Gold Rush charm. ‘

The addition of the Downtown to the Coast family extends our brand further into the north and the Yukon, giving our guests another Coast option in another Coast city” says Mark Hope, Vice President, Development for Coast.
